Dear Members and Friends of SACC:
We think you’ll agree that the Community Chorus experience provides value to the community that is greater with each concert. Under the leadership of Kathleen Vande Berg and Ted Mathews, we continue to produce outstanding concerts. Additionally, the Community Chorus sponsors the St. Augustine Singers, directed by Kathleen Vande Berg and the St. Augustine Children’s Chorus, directed by Kerry Fradley.
The
St. Augustine Community Chorus is a non-profit organization and has relied
entirely on grants, proceeds from ticket sales and member dues to finance our
activities. In previous seasons the Tourism Development Council gave the chorus
funding ranging from $5,000 to $7,500 per season. Since this funding has been
discontinued, the choir needs donors in order to provide excellent choral music
for our community.
Thank you for supporting the Community Chorus during our 2011-2012 Season! A
special thanks to those of you who support us each year!
The board has created two memorial funds:
Martin McKay Memorial Fund
Martin, a dedicated music educator and supporter of the arts, continued his musical leadership in retirement as a tenor in the St. Augustine Community Chorus, a Board member and Stage Manager and an early enthusiast for the vision of Romanza in our community.
Sister Patricia E. Consier O.P. Memorial Fund
In May of this year Sister
Patricia died and we wish to honor her in our December concert. Sister Patricia
was the music director at the Cathedral Basilica for 28 years, and followed Bill
Dixon as Director and President of the Community Chorus. As Chorus Director for
fifteen years, she inspired and taught many musicians, and oversaw the
performance of other concerts in our area
.
If you wish to make a donation in honor of
Martin or Sister Patricia, please make the donations, payable to the fund of
your choice and mail the check to the address given below.
All other donations should be payable to the
St. Augustine Community Chorus. Donors will be listed in concert programs and on
our website:
www.staugustinecommunitychorus.org. It is also
possible to make a donation in honor of someone special to you. The name or
names you place on the last line of the form below will be published with your
contribution.
