Welcome to St. Augustine Community Chorus

SACC is a mixed chorus comprised of local and regional singers. There are no audition requirements, and membership is open to all who enjoy singing sacred and secular choral music.

Rehearsals to begin for Spring Chorus Concert
We all love going to the movies and often leave singing or humming tunes from the score, especially with musicals. For singers who enjoy music from Broadway or the cinema, this is an opportunity to join the St. Augustine Community Chorus for their upcoming concert: These are a few of our favorite things: Movie Musical Magic! The concert will take place at 7:30 PM on Saturday, March 14 and at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 15 at the Performing Arts Center of St. Augustine High School.

From the early days of films in the thirties up through the 1990’s, there are many memorable melodies that we all love to sing, including: “My Favorite Things” , “Unchained Melody”, “As Time Goes By”, “My Heart Will Go On”, “Under the Boardwalk”, and “Hooray for Hollywood”. Director Kathleen Vande Berg has selected all of these and more to be performed by the chorus and soloists during the Community Chorus spring concert. This concert, incidentally, will be the final concert that Vande Berg will be directing the chorus, before the new director, Michael Sanflippo takes over the baton for the May concert. She will, however, remain active as the Director of the St. Augustine Singers and Music Director at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, among other community activities.

Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, January 6 in the Fellowship Hall of Memorial Presbyterian Church. Singers are requested to arrive before 6:30 PM in order to pay their membership fee of $25, which covers the cost of the music. Some scholarships are available, if requested. Rehearsals will continue on Tuesday evenings at the same location with 6:50 PM warm-up, prior to the 7:00 PM rehearsal time.
