Welcome to the Saint
Augustine Community Chorus home page.
Our concert season
this year began with the popular annual Christmas concert on Saturday
and Sunday, Dec.13 and 14, under the musical leadership of Dr. Theodore
Mathews. Enthusiastic listeners filled the Cathedral Basilica for
both performances!
The Pops Concert was performed on March 17 and 18 at the St. Augustine
High School, and directed by Kathy Vande Berg. As always, the audiences
were very appreciative!
For the final
concert, Brahms' German Requiem
was conducted by Ted Mathews on May 17, 2009 at Ancient City Baptist
Church. With the help of orchestra and soloists, it was an exciting
program with which to end our 2008-2009 season!
The St. Augustine
Community sponsors another choral group, the St. Augustine
Children's Chorus, led by Kerry Fradley. More information on this
fine group is on this website.
The Saint Augustine
Community Chorus has been dedicated to those who enjoy quality choral
music since its first performance of Handel’s Messiah in 1948. Please
feel free to explore our web site for further information about the
Chorus, including concert and rehearsal schedules.
We look forward to
seeing you all for our new season starting this fall.
